Who is eligible to register on www.iiml.org?
You can register on the site if you are any of:
- A student of IIML
- An alumnus of IIML
- A current or ex-faculty member of IIML
- An IIML staff member
- A representative of a recruitment organisation seeking to offer jobs to MBA graduates
What do I gain by registering on the site?
Although several areas of the site are open to visitors who have not registered, registration will allow you to:
- read news and updates from IIML
- search the alumni database
- post job offerings or receive job alerts from recruiters
- participate in various alumni activities and initiatives
- obtain a permanent, for-life, @iiml.org email id (to be implemented soon)
How can I register on the site?
(Although this looks complicated, its quite simple really).
- On the left hand side, you will notice a heading saying “Register”. Click on “Member” if you are an IIML student, alumnus, faculty member, or staff member Click on “Recruiter” if you are a recruiter.
- Please fill in the short form which will appear, and click “submit”
- Relax. In a short while (within 24 hours on working days, longer on weekends) you will receive an email at the email address you’ve given (so check it often!). In the meanwhile we manually verify your details, as required by our high-security policy.
- The email you will receive will contain a link. This looks something like this: http://www.iiml.org/MemberLinks/PostMemeberApproval.php?ID=768394&secret_ques_random=pxud87s_98ui.
So, click on it. (Or, if nothing happens after you click on it, copy and paste it into your browser and hit enter)
That takes you to the last step …
- Fill in the form which appears … and hey presto, you are a full-fledged member of the IIML community!!. This form will also allow you to set up a username and password.
I wasn’t asked for / didn’t receive a username and password.
You won’t get either a username or password when you complete the first of our online forms.
Due to security reasons, our registration process requires you to complete two online forms, and you can set up your username and password ONLY when you fill up our second form.
We strongly recommend you refer to “How can I register on the site” in the FAQ, which will make the registration process (including username and password) clearer.
I’ve forgotten my username / password
- On the home page, under the heading saying “Sign in” on the left hand side, please click on either “Member” or “Recruiter”.
- You can then use the “Forgot Password” and “Forgot username” links which appear under the sign in box to obtain your username and password
Why do I get only a limited number of responses when I do a member search on the database?
Due to past occurrences of fraud and misuse, the Alumni Association has adopted a very strict policy on disclosure of member details. Consequently, any search you carry out will give you a maximum of 5 details, and repeated searches may lead to your account being locked out. In addition, repeated searches using no or few criteria will simply return the same results. This, we believe, is a good compromise between catering to member requirements and safeguarding alumni data.
In case you require more member data, please contact the IIML Alumni Association by writing to alumni at iiml.ac.in giving us your exact data requirements and the reason you need this data. Please note that the Alumni Association will not disclose member data for commercial use in any case.
